Greetings,

I am a communications Ph.D. student at North Dakota State University (NDSU) and I am writing to see if I may interview you in the coming weeks for a research study on technology use in the Women’s March.

For this project, I am working with Dr. Justin Walden, a professor at NDSU, to interview about 25 organizers in the Women’s March movement to understand how organization members have used various communication technologies in planning March-related activities. Interviews are taking place either by phone or by videoconferencing technology (such as FaceTime or Skype). We believe this study is important given the scope of the organization’s work and the critical role that technology has in shaping social movements today.

The interview should take no more than 60 minutes. You’ll be given a pseudonym in our final report. Only a general reference to your age and no other demographic information will be included in our report. Participation is voluntary. De-identified study findings will eventually be reported in an academic journal in communication.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please submit the form below or email me at kay.beckermann@ndsu.edu.  I will contact you with a Statement of Informed Consent and set up an interview time.

Any consideration would be appreciated, as I’m sure you’re quite busy.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Warmest,
Kay Beckermann

Thank you for your interest in this important research. I will contact you asap. Kay
